Scarlett is a versatile series designed for jazz, fusion and light rock in mind. Crafted laboriously by hand from start to finish, Scarlett combines modern materials with ancient craft techniques. Scarlett cymbals utilize modern phosphor bronze, and this particular model has a high tin alloy blend which can be most easily compared to Paiste’s signature alloy. The overall sound and feel blends the aforementioned references with that of traditional Turkish alloy. The center is punched and the bell is marked with a compass and slowly formed with hundred of hand hammer strikes, as is the rest of the cymbals profile. Multiple rounds of annealing are employed throughout the process to keep the material resonant and strong. It’s a long, labor intensive process, however the combination of this material with artisan hand work allows for a sound and feel never before experienced in the cymbal universe. Let your ears be the proof!
